The North Fort Myers Academy Arts Foundation
is a 501c3 that was founded to provide much needed additional funds to support the fine arts programs of the Kindergarten through 8th grade performing arts public school, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts. Every one of our 1,100+ students has the opportunity to be active in some part of our arts programs, in fact, many students participate in multiple arts! NFMAA offers the following arts programs and classes... Visual Arts, Graphic Arts, Beginning Orchestra, Intermediate Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra, Elementary Violins, Quartet, Steel Drums, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Beginning Band, Jazz Band, Elementary Drama, Musical Theater, Acting, Jr Thespian Troupe 88623, Elementary Dance, Dance 1, Dance 2, Dance 3, NMFAA Dance Team Illuminations, Beginning Costume Design, Advanced Costume Design, Set Design and Culinary, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Elementary Choir!
In addition to our extensive arts programs, our general education teachers also integrate arts into every classroom.
In order to maintain the high standards and opportunities that our students need to excel, the NFMA Arts Foundation seeks sponsors and fundraises throughout the year. All monies donated go directly to our arts programs to provide supplies, instruments, costumes, scholarships for sending students to state competitions, summer camps, guest artists and also sending our teacher to professional conferences to continue to raise the bar, just to name a few. Principal's Message
The three school initiatives of North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts (NFMAA) include: Academics, Arts and School Safety. As principal of NFMAA, I believe that these initiatives can be accomplished through integrating fine arts into every classroom. To this end, the North Ft. Myers Academy Arts Foundation is an intricate part of the continuing success of NFMAA. The Arts Foundation Board of Directors and the Executive Committee members expend countless hours of volunteering, “in-kind” and financial services to benefit our students. These critical financial supports include the Arts Foundation purchasing steel drums for our music department, marley dance floors for our dance program and an unlimited supply of arts supplies for our art classrooms and integrated arts lessons. In addition, the Arts Foundation provides financial support for guest artists, theatrical events, summer camp programs and the annual end of the year Academy Awards ceremony. Some of these programs have changed slightly this school year due to COVID restrictions, however we have made every effort to incorporate these same programs as much as possible. For instance, our 2020 performance of The Nutcracker was filmed and then edited to include both students in Distance Learning and Face 2 Face students. The entire performance will be available in January 2021 through a streaming platform. This actually increases our possible audience! Without the support of the Arts Foundation it would not be possible to provide this to our students.
